Candlestand

I started with one of my favorite pieces – a Shaker Candlestand – and used it as the inspiration for my own piece in the same vein. There was no thought of improvement of the original. Rather, I wanted to pay homage to it. This table is the result of much experimenting: rejecting many earlier ideas before feeling comfortable with this design. I think it speaks with a quiet elegance, and still has much to explore visually.
