“Remodeling” the shop for Fine Woodworking

I really like the remodeling job that the Fine Woodworking art directors did to my shop! I’ll have to put in a window like that next time.

My shop looks great on the cover of Fine Woodworking this month.

The real shop is a little less romantic

The shop as I see it every day

  1. Too funny! Did they photoshop in the window? ps. I think your wood shop is perfectly lovely either way ;)

    Congrats on the magazine feature!

They sure take the “you need a window near your workbench” philosophy over the top, don’t they?

Really good photoshop work. But I really would like to look out on a forest in my next shop!

  4. Whew! I’ve been to that shop twice and could not for the life of me figure where that photo was taken.

OH isn’t it funny what FWW does. For Phil Lowe’s background is found constantly over the years on other peoples background photos.

(Geez, who can you trust anymore? Did they at least have the decency to keep the “L” tracks in the window view? )

Not too cool. Also, it’s the same window as on page 33 of the same issue. This makes me want to not subscribe to FWW.

It’s not like they photoshopped my dovetails. It looks quite a bit better than my cork-board. I’m inspired to add a window like that in my next shop.
